|The UNESCO World Heritage Centre and Panasonic Corporation have announced the release of the new 2014 World Heritage calendar application for PCs and tablets.
The calendar application is available in five languages (Japanese, English, French, Chinese and Spanish).
After installing the application on a PC or tablet, the user can enjoy photographs of World Heritage sites from around the world.
January features a photograph of Mt. Fuji, which was added to the World Heritage List in June 2013. The calendar also includes fun facts and trivia about World Heritage sites, and the pictures can be viewed as a slideshow.

The application was developed as an educational tool for the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network of more than 9,000 educational institutions in 180 countries, and Panasonic plans to enhance the content of the calendar in the future.
UNESCO and Panasonic have created wall calendars since 1995 and an application version since 2010 with the aim of promoting environmental education through the protection of World Heritage sites.
The application version includes content that is not available in the print version, such as informative games and other information related to World Heritage sites.
