Toshiba’s Ultrabooks and Laptops Feature Windows 8
|Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., announced Thursday its Windows 8-optimized Ultrabook systems and new Satellite S955 laptops.
The Satellite U845W and new Satellite U945 Ultrabook systems pair Intel’s latest mobile technologies with Toshiba’s hardware designs to offer everyday entertainment and productivity in highly portable form factors.
According to the company, the new Satellite S955 laptop is about 35 percent thinner than the previous generation, while continuing to deliver smart performance and sensational styling.

“Toshiba’s new line of Ultrabooks and thin-and-light laptops are designed to give consumers an excellent Windows 8 experience,” said Carl Pinto, vice president of marketing of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division.
“We’ve paired amazingly thin designs with responsive performance and included everything a consumer needs to begin using the new operating system.”

Toshiba’s new PCs feature spacious TouchPads or ClickPads from Synaptics that, with Windows 8 gesture support, allow customers to perform the same gestures on the touchpad as they would on a touchscreen device.
The new Satellite Ultrabook systems and Satellite S955 will be available at major retailers, e-tailers and direct from Toshiba at ToshibaDirect.com on October 26, 2012.
