Planet Romeo Brings Gay Dating to Apple Watch

Gay dating platform PlanetRomeo has announced the launch of its smartwatch apps for late April, in sync with the release of the Apple Watch.

According to the company, the gay community is known to be early tech adopters and will be a good indicator whether Apple will start a lifestyle revolution once again.

“PlanetRomeo is a perfect match for the smartwatch,” said Sven Voges, PlanetRomeo’s chief product owner. “Users will easily view profiles, chat and plan dates on the go. We’re also exploring cool new features. Imagine being notified as soon as the right guys are nearby or getting turn-by-turn navigation to your next date.”

It will work as an extension to PlanetRomeo’s mobile apps for iOS and Android. The company’s strategy is to work closely with the gay community to tailor the new features according to the user’s needs.

The launch of the smartwatch app is part of a major revamp of PlanetRomeo’s platform in 2015. According to the company, its mobile apps for iOS and Android have gotten a slick new design and the all-new web interface has its Beta rollout scheduled for this summer.

PlanetRomeo is a dating and social platform for the gay / bisexual male and transgender communities. Founded in 2002, PlanetRomeo is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
