Photo Album with Voice-Activated Digital Assistant Launched
|Digital photography company PhotoSpring announced Wednesday PhotoSpring 8, an automated digital photo album on crowdfunding site Kickstarter.
The company believes consumers are finding it difficult to manage and view the sheer number of photos taken on smartphones and other camera devices.
PhotoSpring 8 provides a hassle-free way to enjoy photos using advanced image processing and artificial intelligence. It automatically gathers photos from various sources, organizes them, and displays the best ones on its high resolution screen, says the company.

“People we surveyed have expressed disappointment with never seeing their photos, difficulty keeping them organized, and frustration with not being able to find photos,” explained Dan Ho, co-founder of PhotoSpring. “PhotoSpring 8 solves these problems. Through technology we’ve automated the entire process. You can now see photos from your entire collection, every day, without any hassle.”
PhotoSpring 8 is a complete photo management system in a single device. Photos are stored directly on the device to provide the highest level of privacy. No subscription fees are required. A touch-screen interface and internal battery allows users to browse and manage photos in any comfortable setting.

PhotoSpring 8 organizes photos so they are easy to find, share, and enjoy. Facial recognition technology automatically identifies and tags the people in each photo. Photos of selected people can be shared automatically to family and friends. The search feature can be used to find photos by people, location, or date.
PhotoSpring 8 also includes a built-in, voice-activated digital assistant. “This combination makes a lot of sense,” explained Ho. “Users will be seeing their photos on PhotoSpring 8 throughout the day, and with the voice-activated assistant they can instantly get information about weather, traffic, news, and other services.”
PhotoSpring 8 is currently available for pre-order on Kickstarter for a limited time. Pricing starts at $99 for the 16GB model increasing to $149 for the 32GB model and $249 for the 128GB model.
