Lea Thompson Stars in Big Fish’s Mystery Case Files
|Big Fish, which offers casual games, today announced the next Mystery Case Files game – the ninth in Big Fish’s hidden-object adventure series.
The game, entitled Mystery Case Files: Shadow Lake, features starring roles by Lea Thompson and her daughter Madelyn Deutch.
Ms. Thompson is best known for her starring role in the drama series, “Switched at Birth,” currently airing Mondays at 8:00pm ET/PT on ABC Family; for her lead role in the sitcom “Carolyn in the City;” and her role in “Back to the Future,” where she played Ms. Lorraine Baines.
“Big Fish’s Mystery Case Files is one of their most popular franchises, and I can say after working on this game I have become a born-again gamer,” said Lea Thompson. “This game was fun to work on, and I enjoyed working with the team from Big Fish Studios. As an added bonus, I got to work with my daughter.”
In Mystery Case Files: Shadow Lake, Ms. Thompson plays a psychic medium that helps the Master Detective solve puzzles during their investigation of an eerie ghost town’s mysterious destruction.
Her daughter, Madelyn, stars as a co-host of a Ghost Patrol TV show that’s filming on-scene to uncover the haunted legacy of the town. This past summer, both actresses traveled to places in and around Seattle to work with Big Fish’s in-house studio to film the live scenes that are used in the game.
“The team was so excited to have the opportunity to work with Lea and her daughter,” said Kale Stutzman, director on Mystery Case Files. “Their inclusion really raises the bar for the series, and we can’t wait for Mystery Case Files fans—and new players alike—to interact with their characters.”
Mystery Case Files: Shadow Lake will be available exclusively at www.bigfishgames.com starting Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012. The trial version can be downloaded and played for free; the full Collector’s Edition version is available for $19.99 (U.S.).
