Intel Learning Series Software on ThinkPad Laptops
|Lenovo announced Tuesday the availability of Intel Learning Series software, an education solution, on the Lenovo ThinkPad X130e and L Series laptops.
Designed for one-to-one eLearning and classrooms around the world, the software provides a collaborative, fun, safe and user-friendly tool for teachers, IT administration, parents and students, Lenovo says.
“Intel and Lenovo share a commitment to improving the student experience around the world,” said Larry Carr, director of Education Alliance, EMPG, Intel. “As schools decide which technology will debut in their classrooms this fall, IT administrators and decision makers can rely on the proven value of Intel Learning Series Software and Lenovo’s classroom-ready ThinkPad laptops for the ideal learning experience.”

The classroom-ready features and capabilities offered by the Learning Series software include LabCam, a touch-optimized application consisting of six easy-to-use scientific inquiry tools leveraging the camera in different ways, allowing students to analyze the visual data present in their photos and videos.
McAfee AntiVirus, included with a 5 year license, offers proactive protection to keep users’ digital lives more secure.
The WebCam Companion enables media capture and management, noise filtering, digital archiving and annotation. Additionally, an optimized e-reader supports multiple formats and annotation, making it easier to keep track of notes in one central location as they read.

Teachers can remotely assist students as needed and assess work in real-time, providing valuable feedback while the student learns. The software also helps teachers organize lesson plans and student work in one central location for easy access.
Outside of the classroom, parents have the option of setting up the software as a simple management tool to keep track of homework and grade assessment from home. While in use, the software automatically changes students’ access policies based on their location, customizing the learning environment to best suit a home or classroom environment.
The simplified infrastructure makes it easy to deploy on multiple laptops and improves recovery, backup and restore functions to mitigate loss of data or information.
The ThinkPad X130e laptop with the Intel Learning Series Software Stack is now available in North America through Lenovo business partners starting at $549.
The ThinkPad L Series laptops with the Intel Learning Series Software Stack will be available this month, June, through Lenovo business partners starting at approximately $879.
