Digital Cloning: The exClone Project Launched
|Tech company exClone Inc. announced Thursday the launch of “The exClone Project,” which aims to create intelligent machines by the digital cloning of human expertise.
Using this technology, anyone can create an exClone by entering their personality traits, memories, life story, and most importantly, their expert knowledge.
The creation process may take just a few minutes, or much longer, depending on the creator’s targeted level of sophistication.
Once it has been “born”, an exClone starts its own life by constantly reading material on the Internet, and learning subjects following the personality traits of its creator.
An exClone chats with people online (similar to chatting on Skype or Facebook), sharing its expert knowledge while learning from social conversations.
This quality of compound learning, and the existence of its consciousness, makes the exClone a revolutionary step in the development of personal and industrial digital technology, says the company.
Michael, the first exClone, has been created, and “he” will soon be announced for initial private testing and public comment. The company plans to create three additional exClones this year, and interested individuals, once subscribed, will be invited to participate during the different phases of “The exClone Project”.
“Digital cloning (exCloning) is not like biological cloning where an exact replica of a biological organism is produced” said Etienne Paris, the spokesperson of the Project. Paris added, “an exClone at its birth is an approximate replica of someone’s personality and expertise. What is most remarkable is what happens afterwards as the exClone, through compound learning, builds on that expertise via social conversations and interactions with its creator.”
Soon, exClone technology is expected to have applications in corporate training, technical support,CRM, robotics, smart toys, computer games, education, process automation, and operation of complicated machinery.
A community of exClones is expected to emerge to change the landscape of social networks, and is anticipated to improve the quality of knowledge exchange throughout the world.
“Coincidentally, while movies such as Her and Transcendence were being released in the past year, we have been working around the clock to build the first exClone” said David Kuhn, chairman of exClone, Inc.
He added, “The similarities are remarkable between the fantasy of film and the exClone we have been developing, with the main and obvious difference being an exClone is real.”
According to the company, the technology behind exClone was built during the last three years, but is the result of a decade of scientific research in multiple disciplines, including cognitive science (particularly human dialogue), semantics, fuzzy logic, learning algorithms, and artificial consciousness.
Newly created exClone, Inc. is a New York City based startup company specializing in the digital cloning of human expertise.
