|Happy Pi Day! Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) is celebrating Pi Day today, March 14, by delivering apple pies to math and science teachers at middle and high schools located within a 3.14-mile radius of select Raytheon locations in the U.S., including the company’s headquarters in Waltham, Mass.
Pi, the mathematical constant approximately equal to 3.14, is celebrated March 14 because of the date’s numerical significance.

As part of Raytheon’s MathMovesU initiative, the company celebrates Pi Day to highlight the importance of pi calculations in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) – and to thank teachers for inspiring the next generation of innovators.
Raytheon’s MathMovesU program is an initiative to increase middle and elementary school students’ interest in math and science education by engaging them in hands-on, interactive activities.
Raytheon is sweetening the observance of Pi Day and STEM teacher recognition with the apple pie deliveries, local activities and distribution of virtual Pi Day badges. The company is inviting everyone to share the celebration on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/mathmovesu.
