Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Go to Google Play
|Featuring the complete text of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, in both audio and optional text tracks, Alicewinks app has an animated, portrait-oriented video track based on the illustrations of 12 early 20th century artists.
Walrus & Carpenter Productions announces the availability of Alicewinks, a 164-minute audio / video / text animated app on the Google Play Store.
“We believe that this is the first feature length HD video to be delivered in portrait orientation,” said David Neal, producer, director and developer of the app.
“The original artwork was produced in this orientation for reproduction in books, and the recent development of tablet computers makes the playback of this type of video feasible.”

Lewis Carroll, who in real life was a mathematician named Charles Dodgson, also had a great interest in technology.
Dodgson was an early and accomplished amateur photographer in the mid-19th century, a time when photography required a hands-on working knowledge of chemistry. Dodgson acquired many new inventions of the day and was himself an inventor.
Formed in January 2012, Walrus & Carpenter produces video-based products designed for tablet computers. Its first product is known as “Alicewinks – 19th century fantasy, 20th century imagery, 21st century technology.”
