Digital India to Enable e-Swaraj at Panchayat Level

India’s IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Monday that the Common Services Centers (CSCs) operating in the State of Jammu & Kashmir will get state services.
He will take up the issue with the Chief Minister of J&K, Ms. Mehbooba Mufti. On the occasion, he also launched two new G2C services of election and police recruitment through CSCs. More services will be added enabling more business opportunities for the CSC entrepreneurs.
[ आओ मिल कर करें एक नये और समृद्ध भारत का निर्माण ]Common Services Centers (CSCs) are part of the Digital India programme. They are the access points for delivery of various electronic services to villages in India, thereby contributing to a digitally and financially inclusive society.
All CSCs are being enabled to undertake banking, insurance, and pension schemes.
Minister said government’s focus is on enabling e-Swaraj (self governance) at the Panchayat level, resulting in enlightened and empowered society which can actively participate in nation building.
