Google Gets a Rival; Now Slimjet Is Here
|Slimjet claims to be a fast, smart and feature-packed web browser powered by the Blink engine, which is stated to be the “same engine used by Google Chrome.”
Whether it’s doing serious research work, streaming Internet video, or playing online games, Slimjet helps users do it more efficiently and smoothly, suggests FlashPeak Inc. which has introduced Slimjet for global Internet surfers.
While Chrome is known for its simplicity and minimalist design style, Slimjet, according to the company, takes a different approach by incorporating more options and settings so that every user can customize it to suit personal preference and maximize personal productivity.
Slimjet is more much flexible and customizable than Chrome while keeping the user interface clean and uncluttered, FlashPeak claims.
Released under freeware license at no cost to end users, Slimjet features a fully customizable toolbar which allows users to add more buttons to gain quick access to various features such as history viewer, printing, downloads, clearing browsing data, Facebook integration, web page translation and even weather forecasting.
Also, Slimjet automatically compresses photos being uploaded to a reasonable resolution for online sharing purpose so that the speed to upload photos can be increased. It includes a Photo Salon feature which allow users to add frame images and other enhancement effects to photos being uploaded so that users can make their photos appear more impressive among their friends. It works seamlessly with any photo sharing websites, such as Facebook, Google+, Flickr and so on.
Slimjet runs on any Windows platform no earlier than Windows XP.
