Amitabh Bachchan Invites You to Follow Him on Twitter

While social media has come as a new toy for actors in the Indian film industry, most are running in a mad scramble to rope in more social media fans by hook or by crook.

Now Amitabh Bachchan, a leading Bollywood actor of yesteryears, is chasing people to have more fan count on his Twitter account.

As part of an integration with Twitter India and a mobile messaging company ZipDial, any mobile user in India can now follow the actor’s Twitter account @SrBachchan by dialling, or giving a missed call, at +91-22- 33010007.

It was announced today, Oct. 10, by the actor’s social media agency Fluence.

Now fans across India, can read Bachchan’s thoughts on different topics and get a peek into the latest happenings in his life, it was stated.

Indian film industry, which produces nearly 800 movies in a year, is known for making low-quality, ordinary films on shoestring budgets. Bollywood – a loose term for Mumbai-based Indian films market – is a kind of family fiefdom.

The collaboration in association with Fluence – India’s leading online influencer network around celebrities and brands, will allow everyone across the country to follow and engage the actor (Amitabh Bachchan) on Twitter via SMS.

The service works for all mobile users in the country with any phone or any operator. Moreover it’s free irrespective of whether they have a Twitter account or data-enabled phone, says Fluence.
