Burson-Marsteller’s Dallas Lawrence Wins Social Media Award

Dallas Lawrence, chief global digital strategist for Burson-Marsteller, has been named Social Media Professional of the Year by PR News at the publication’s annual PR People Awards.

The award recognizes Lawrence as one of the industry’s leading social media professionals. Burson-Marsteller made this announcement Monday, Dec. 3.

In addition to leading a global practice group of digital media strategists, Lawrence serves as the firm’s thought leader on digital and social media trends.

In 2011, Lawrence (pictured above) was named the “Crisis Manager of the Year” by PR News for his leadership in and expertise in online and offline crisis management.

“In today’s rapidly evolving communications landscape where audiences shun generic broadcast messages desiring deeper, more personal engagement, social media has become the critical connector for every aspect of our business, from crisis communications to public affairs, investor relations and brand marketing,” said Lawrence.

Lawrence is a former commissioned public affairs officer in the United States Navy and is an adjunct instructor at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Arts in Government from The Johns Hopkins University.
